Reflecting the innovative and technically sophisticated nature of electrical power distribution, the substation design utilises dynamic roof shapes, balanced against strongly ordered street elevations, which define the public realm.
External features to include reinforced concrete, selected face brickwork and factory-coated metal wall and roof cladding. Internal features will include fire-rated concrete blockwork, reinforced concrete walls, columns and beams, and fire-rated concrete ceilings. Landscape screening along Commercial Road reduces the overall bulk and scale of the development.
Designed to fit with the Rouse Hill development area development control guide, it relates to the area’s future character including mixed-use residential and retail development.
